Modern Kitchen - Annandale

This Annandale kitchen design transformed  a dysfunctional space into a stunning contemporary statement, the owner of this home couldn’t be more delighted with his new kitchen. Located on the ground floor of an inner-city terrace, the kitchen has typically narrow dimensions, so the use of space was pivotal to the outcome of this project.

By working innovatively with the limited area, Art of Kitchens has created a gorgeous kitchen with an added dining area, something the client had thought impossible. The overall result is a sleek and efficient kitchen, abundant in storage and entertaining space and equipped for the client’s busy executive lifestyle.

Polyurethane and timber veneer cabinets fill the full height of the wall, creating an abundance of storage and the illusion of space. A large steel support structure in the centre of the kitchen – initially an obstacle – has been covered in veneer to create a seamless contract with the timber veneer, a lighter coloured CaesarStone bench top and island offer ample workspace and make the perfect entertaining hub.

To achieve the contemporary aesthetic so desired by the client, the space is free of cornices. In keeping with the minimal theme, the cabinetry is handle-free. Mirrored kickboards and splashback in ‘Smoke Grey’ finish the kitchen with sophistication and added depth. Another clever inclusion is the pantry which is discreetly nestled under the stairs for extra storage.

To complement the homes exposed brick walls and suburban location, the kitchen has taken on a distinctly industrial finish. Edgy black cabinetry, sleek bench tops and feature pendant lighting come together to give the space a unique masculine finish.

Striking an ideal balance between between design and functionality, this is a kitchen that’s ready to entertain at any time of day.
