Why is Home Warranty Insurance important?
The home warranty insurance scheme is part of a comprehensive consumer protection regime for homeowners undertaking residential building projects in NSW where the contract price exceed $20,000. Where a builder is unable to honour their commitments under a contract due to insolvency, death or disappearance home warranty insurance provided a safety net for homeowners including subsequent purchasers.

Do Art of Kitchens do kitchen renovations or only new kitchens?
We only build new kitchens unless you are a past client. We would be happy to discuss any changes to your existing Art of Kitchen’s kitchen.
Does Art of Kitchens only sell kitchens or other joinery?
We do design other joinery for a whole range of uses including, built in robes, BBQ’s, vanities, studies, bookshelves, laundries desks etc. To see samples of these, select the ‘Other living spaces‘ tab in our project gallery.
Does Art of Kitchens supply/sell appliances?
No, but we would recommend Australia’s leading kitchen and laundry appliance specialist Winning Appliances. Please visit their website for showroom locations and browse all the latest information appliances available.
Do I need to get my floors done before I have my kitchen installed?
This depends on the type of floor, your designer can guide you on the best way to manage this once you start your kitchen project.
When do I get my appliances delivered to site?
One week before installation.
How long does it take to get my bench top after the kitchen is installed?
The bench top is not delivered with your kitchen, first a check measure by the bench top supplier will need to be taken once the kitchen cabinets are installed. This is so we can have your benchtop fit perfectly. It takes 7-14 days from check measure to have your bench top installed.
What do you recommend for the best benchtop material?
There are many different surfaces to choose from, each with their own positives and negatives. We would suggest you talk with your designer to determine what surface best suits your lifestyle, needs and purpose.
Surfaces available: Natural Stone, Solid Surfaces i.e. Corian, Engineered Stone Quartz, Natural Timber and Concrete
What do people normally do first? Finalise their appliances before or after meeting with the designer?
We would recommend you have a general idea of the appliances you were thinking of buying new or reusing in your dream kitchen at your initial meeting with the designer. For example; double or single door fridge, upright or wall oven, are you wanting a steam oven, coffee machine, microwave. Would you like your fridges integrated? Your designer can also help make suggestions based on the kitchen design and layout you select.
Can I select and pay for my own appliances?
Yes, you will just need to provide us with the model numbers so we can ensure your kitchen fits perfectly around them.
Can I organise my own trades people, such a plumber, electrician or builder?
Yes, we can provide you with the kitchen installation and you can organise your own tradespeople to complete the work. Keep in mind, we will not supervise any trades people you hire, they will be your responsibility.
What % do I need to pay upfront?
The initial deposit and progress payments are as follows:
- 10% deposit
- 20% At check measure
- 65% On delivery
- 5% On completion – following inspection and handover
Do I need to pay the tradespeople and suppliers separately?
No, you only pay the progress payments as outlined in your contract.
What is your builders licence number?
Our NSW Home Builders licence number is 35772C.
Do you have the required insurance?
Yes we have all necessary insurance as required by the Department of Fair Trading to carry out kitchen installations and building works.
