TRADITIONAL KITCHEN – WEST PENNANT HILLS

This West Pennant Hills renovation had a two main objectives: to improve the space around the island and reorganise the kitchen storage space for greater efficiency. Designer David Bartlett turned his attention to the layout of the room and repositioned a number of elements to enhance the work flow.

“We needed to create an efficient work triangle,” he says, “and I needed to find a way to include more appliances within the space.”

By integrating the refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher, David has ‘hidden’ the technology and brought the Kirribilli design doors to the forefront. He has also found room to include a separate wine refrigerator, steam oven and coffee machine.

In contrast to the old kitchen that was filled with cupboards, this newly designed space features a wealth of drawers offering an abundance of storage space with full-extension runners that guarantee ease of access to the contents inside.

As you can be seen, the new island bench is perfectly designed and situated to enhance family living and becomes the focal point of the home when entertaining. With plenty of preparation space, as well as room to sit, it is now the gathering point for this growing family and their friends.

The old kitchen was very traditional in style, so the new space has been given an updated look with beautiful polyurethane doors and a stunning marble Benchtop. With a warm timber floor, glass splashback and mother-of-pearl handles, this kitchen is reminiscent of the style one would find in the exclusive Hamptons.
